The winner of the 2018 NHL draft lottery is…
For those teams that didn’t qualify for the NHL’s post season dance and a chance at the storied Stanley Cup; there’s the NHL draft lottery and a chance to been a summer retooling with a major update in the prospect pool.
This year, the top ranked prize is elite Swedish defenseman, Rasmus Dahlin. Considered by many to be the complete package defender; a generational talent at his position; it is Dahlin that is expected to go first overall. At 6’2″ and 183 pounds, many believe the young 17-year-old could be ready to make the jump from the SHL’s Frolunda, straight to the NHL.
With three just three teams still in the lottery; he will more than likely be pulling on a Buffalo, Montreal or Carolina sweater come draft day.
